 | Ryan Miller (President)
Ryan Miller, an Algona High School graduate, became a new member of the Algona Police Reserve in December of 2016. He had previously served as a Kossuth County Reserve Deputy for ten years. Miller is employed in maintenance at Kossuth Regional Health Center. He is married and the father of three children. His many hobbies include shooting, hockey, Jeeps, ham radio, and is a member of the Kossuth County C.E.R.T. Miller feels that being a reserve officer is an enjoyable and rewarding way to volunteer and serve the community.

| John Mains
John Mains became an Algona Police Reserve in 2015. The Algona native is employed as a Fabricator at Cozzini LLC. He and his wife Laura's family includes Brandon, Karley, and Katelyn. Mains enjoys biking, disc golf, cooking, video games, and music. He chose to become a reserve officer so he could serve the community and could perform in a backup role to the police officers and also be trained to assist in the cases of emergency. Mains is an Algona High School graduate.

 | John Steier
John Steier is the longest-serving member of the Algona Police Reserve, becoming a member in April of 2006. His family includes his wife Jeannie and son Henry. The Bishop Garrigan High School graduate is the owner of Steier Flooring LLC, Algona’s only certified flooring installer! Steier became a police reserve because he always had an interest in law enforcement and considers his ability to be a public servant through the reserves an honor. Among his hobbies are woodworking, home improvement, fishing, and firing his weapons.

 | Jacob Zittritsch
Jacob Zittritsch is one of the longest-serving Algona Police Reserves, becoming a member in 2011. His educational background includes being a graduate of Bishop Garrigan and two years of Fire Science Management at Kirkwood Community College. He is currently employed by the City of Algona Public Works Dept. Zittritsch's family includes his parents, John and Connie, his girlfriend Becky, and their young son. His hobbies and fishing, bowling, dirt track races, and disc golf. Zittritsch joined the reserves as another way to give back to the community, along with being a member of Algona EMS and Fire Department.

| Royce Thomas
Royce Thomas has been an Algona Police Reserve the last two years. He considers being a reserve officer as an awesome opportunity to help the community and to be involved. He would like to make law enforcement a career. Thomas has a B.A. in Criminology from William Penn University. He currently is employed at Snap-On Tools. Thomas and his spouse Danielle have a son and a daughter. His interests and hobbies include coaching, woodworking, and generally spending time with family and friends.

 | Lara Bartusek
Lara Bartusek became a member of the Algona Police Reserves in January of 2016. The Mason City High School alumnus is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and has a law enforcement degree from North Iowa Area Community College. Bartusek is employed as a communications officer with the Clear Lake Police Department. She has two sons at home, Weston and Archer. Her hobbies include swimming, weightlifting, and roller derby.

 | Neal Koob
Neal Koob also joined the Algona Police Reserve in January of 2016. The Bishop Garrigan graduate currently studies Criminal Justice at DMACC and is scheduled to graduate in May 2017. The second of four children, he enjoys working out, Frisbee golf, fishing, and hiking. Koob elected to become a reserve officer to gain more experience and to get a better understanding of what they do and what they encounter prior to seeking a full-time position in the future.

| Hallie Jordan
Hallie Jordan became a new member of the Algona Police Reserve in January of 2017. She is an Algona High School graduate and currently works at Klepper and Trainer. She enjoys reading, playing with her daughter, and being outside working on cars with her husband. Jordan became a reserve officer because she felt a calling to serve the people of Algona in the best way possible. She would like to assist those in trouble by creating a safer environment.

 | Bret Brandt
Bret Brandt also became a new reserve officer in January 2017. The Forest City High School graduate is currently a Criminal Justice major at Iowa Lakes Community College and is employed at Grass Masters. Brandt’s interests include hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He decided to become a reserve officer to begin his desired career in law enforcement. Brandt’s family includes his parents T.J. and Brenda and his brothers Bryce and Brock.

 | Matthew Adams
Matt Adams joined the Algona Police Reserve in December 2017. He is a Swea City native and is employed in various capacities at his alma mater, North Union Community School. Adams went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Iowa State University. He hopes to enter law enforcement as his full-time occupation sometime in the future. In his free time, Adams enjoys hunting, camping, working out, and playing basketball.

 | Mitchell Skow
Mitchell Skow of Algona was appointed to the Algona Police Reserve in December 2017. He is a Humboldt native and graduated from Humboldt High School. After his graduation, Skow attended the University of North Iowa for two years. He is a member of the Iowa Army National Guard as an E4-SPC and is also employed at the Algona HyVee Store. His goal is to become a full-time law enforcement officer someday.

 | RJ White
Corwith native RJ White became an Algona Police Reserve in December 2017. He is employed in the Security Department at Elanco Animal Health in Fort Dodge. White is a graduate of Corwith Wesley-Luverne High School and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kaplan University. His interests include spending time with his wife and children and also watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Indianapolis Colts football games.
